THE old woman sat on the time-worn, rattan rocking chair. Her eyeglasses perched precariously on her nose as she concentrated on her sewing. A slight breeze swept the wisps of silver hair on her temples.
Beside her sat the teenage granddaughter staring out the window. She was like a fresh flower recently bloomed.
Abruptly, the girl asked, "Lola, why is true love so hard to find?"
The old woman with the kindly face stopped darning and touched her granddaughter's head affectionately. The young girl cuddled closer resting her head on the old woman's lap.
