Europe's leading telecommunications operator Deutsche Telekom appointed the Director of its mobile telephony division to the chairmanship of the group, which has racked up record losses for the first nine months of the year. After four months adrift, Deutsche Telekom now has a new captain. The Board has appointed 41-year old Kai-Uwe Ricke to the post of Chairman of the Board in place of caretaker Chairman Helmut Sihler, who stepped in after the forced resignation of Ron Sommer in July.
