Chicago Transit Authority, which recently marked its 50th anniversary, presented a $924.6-million 2003 budget that includes a $539-million capital improvement plan.
Projects included in the plan are:
* Ongoing rehabilitation of the Cermak (Douglas) Branch of the Blue Line.
* The Brown Line Capacity Expansion, which will eliminate slow zones, as well as make the CTA accessible to all customers, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act guidelines.
