GE Transportation Systems Global Signaling manufactures the CTS-2 In Tie Switch Machine for mainline applications and the GE Hydra-Switch Machine, acquired from Railway Technology, Inc., for yard and secondary track applications.
The company notes the benefits of the CTS-2 include no required scheduled maintenance, a design that minimizes out-of-adjustment switch failures, no left- or rignt-hand configuration and machine tamping is possible.
