Showa Denko uses waste plastics stream to produce ammonia. (Recycling).(Brief Article)

Showa Denko says it has begun construction on a project to fully recycle waste plastics to produce ammonia and other chemicals at Kawasaki, Japan. The project is part of the city of Kawasaki's "eco-town project," to recycle post-consumer and industrial plastic waste. Capital expenditures for this project will be [yen]7.4 billion ($62 million), of which [yen]3.7 billion will likely be covered by subsidies from the Japanese government and the city of Kawasaki, Showa Denko says. Completion of the project is due in March 2003
