Nov. 29--HACKENSACK, N.J.--She sat comfortably on the warm, cushy seats, saving herself a couple of bucks by riding the free shuttle. Still, Fawn Chavis found reason to complain about it as she rode downtown.
"The service is awful. The drivers are disrespectful," said the Hackensack resident, stepping off at a Main Street stop. "It seems to us that they act like they're doing us a favor. They're not."
Indeed, since it began in June, the Hackensack program has been a mixed bag for those who drive, ride, and manage the service.
