When his team plays at Memphis next week, Denver Nuggets assistant John MacLeod just might sidle up to Grizzlies head coach Hubie Brown, and say, ``Thanks, old fellow.''
When Brown, 69, was named to replace Sidney Lowe last month, it offered new hope for MacLeod, 65. He has been trying to get an NBA head coaching position since being fired as Notre Dame coach in 1999, and it hasn't helped when teams check his birth certificate.
