NEW TECHNOLOGY ALLOWS FAX MACHINES TO ACT AS COMPUTER TERMINALS
MENLO PARK, Calif., Oct. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Fax machines are no longer limited to simply sending a copy of a document from point A to point B. InterFax Inc., a Silicon Valley start up, has developed and patented technologies that allow fax machines to communicate with computers much the same way that terminals do. Using InterFax technology, a user can send commands to a computer by faxing them on a sheet of paper. The computer response is faxed to the user almost instantaneously.
