Nov. 30--BEAVERTON, Ore.--Santa Claus has been grounded.
Operation Santa Claus that is, Oregon's Redmond-based, 100-reindeer herd owned for the past 19 years by Mike and Cindy Gillaspie and renowned across the country for its touring teams.
"Mike is the man," said Sam Militello of St. Clair, Mich., owner of a 10-reindeer operation near Detroit. "He wrote the book on traveling with reindeer. Even Santa listens when Mike speaks."
