PHOENIX _ Ron Wilson and Herb Brooks are believed to be on the San Jose Sharks' short list of candidates to replace Darryl Sutter as coach.
After firing Sutter and assistants Rich Preston and Lorne Molleken on Sunday, General Manager Dean Lombardi said he would move quickly on selecting a new coach. The Sharks begin a four-game homestand Friday, so there is an expectation that the new staff will be in place by then.
``We don't expect this to be a very long process at all,'' Lombardi said.
Wilson interviewed to be the Sharks' coach in 1997 after the club fired Al Sims. But the job went to Sutter.
