Dec. 4--Real estate brokers who offer discounted services say a new state rule could slam the door on their business.
The Texas Real Estate Commission changed licensing rules to set a minimum level of service Realtors must provide u a step applauded by the Texas Association of Realtors as a consumer safeguard.
But brokers who discount fees say the changes would prevent them from offering bare-bones service to sellers. In effect, they say, it's an attempt by traditional agents to keep commissions high.
