Dec. 5--After five years of battling citrus canker, Manatee County is down to six square miles of trees still under quarantine, said Ray Seitler, citrus canker project manager for the Palmetto office of the Florida Department of Agriculture.
Roughly 2,000 residential trees located in the Bradenton area from First Street to the east, the Manatee River to the north, Cortez Road to the south and 34th Street to the west are now under quarantine.
No groves are under quarantine here.
