BELLEVUE -- It may have only been for one shining moment - a few minutes at most.
But for 18-year-old Stacie Brashem, her debut on MTV's "Staying Alive" concert, which marked World AIDS Day, meant the world to her. Her message - about a family friend who died from acquired immune deficiency syndrome - was rife with meaning.
Sunday, the Newport High School senior's words and photographs were broadcast to a nationwide audience as part of the network's special concert. It mixed messages, rap, rhythm and blues, hip-hop and a segment from Seattle's Experience Music Project to raise awareness about the disease.
