Dec. 5--More than $3.7 million in tourism promotion matching grants have been approved by the Division of Tourism, including a $247,600 grant to Tri-State Racetrack and Gaming Center.
The 50-50 matching grant will fund print and broadcast advertising to promote the new Mardi Gras gaming center at the Nitro dog track, according to Tourism spokeswoman Caryn Gresham.
The campaign will feature broadcast ads, including a 30-minute "infomercial," and newspaper ads that will appear in West Virginia, Ohio and Virginia early next year.
