Nov. 19--While Logan Airport beat today's federal deadline to have all passenger checkpoints under federal control by almost two weeks, Logan's next deadline for screening checked luggage for explosives will be tougher to meet, officials said yesterday.
The Transportation Security Administration still needs to hire and train another 260 employees before the Dec. 31 federal deadline, according to George F. Nacarra, Logan's federal security director.
