DETROIT _ No matter what Mike Modano says or what clauses Brett Hull has in his contract, the bottom line is that the Red Wings want Hull back next season, Hull is happy in Detroit, and Hull appears much more likely to stay than to leave as an unrestricted free agent.
Modano, a close friend and former teammate of Hull's, kicked off another hullabaloo last week. After telling the Star-Telegram earlier this season Hull would love to be traded to Dallas, Modano told the paper he thought Hull would want to finish his career with the Stars.
