Nov. 15--American entertainment icon Dick Clark is among a group of Krispy Kreme investors ready to invade the United Kingdom, a market not even British-owned Dunkin' Donuts has dared attack.
The television producer, who recently sold Dick Clark Productions for $136 million, is one of four principals who plan to franchise the "hot doughnut experience" in the United Kingdom.
On Thursday, Winston-Salem based Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. said it had formed Krispy Kreme UK Ltd. to build 25 shops in five years. The company is 66 percent owned by Cheshire and Kent ...
