Nov. 14--GLENDALE, Calif.--This city's population will likely grow to about 213,000 -- or by nearly 9 percent -- over the next 30 years, a substantial slowdown from the nearly 35 percent growth since 1980, according to a new city report.
The prediction -- far more conservative than the Southern California Association of Governments' estimate that the city would hit 260,000 by 2030 -- concludes there is too little room in the city for the population boom to continue.
"We're filling up," said Elaine Wilkerson, director of the Glendale Planning Division.
