Nov. 13--Nathan J. Stark, a former civic leader who helped develop Hospital Hill and Crown Center, died Monday evening at his home in Washington, D.C.
Stark, 82, was a former executive with Hallmark Cards Inc. and chairman of the Crown Center Redevelopment Corp. during its first building phase in the early 1970s.
Stark also led a civic group that oversaw the transfer of the old Kansas City General Hospital from the city to a nonprofit corporation. With the support of Hallmark, Stark led a group that was instrumental in helping attract other medical ...
