Nov. 5--Even though West Coast ports are back operating after a tentative agreement was reached last week between shipping lines and the longshore union, things are far from normal in international trade circles.
Cargo that stacked up during a 10-day lockout last month has created congestion between the Pacific Rim and points in the U.S. that is expected to slow freight traffic at least through the end of the year.
But could this year's problems on the West Coast translate into gains for transportation companies such as Kansas City Southern that have ...
