Nov. 10--Matthew Fosh, one-time contender for Clara Furse's job as boss of the Stock Exchange, will tomorrow be named as chief executive of the Lloyd's underwriting group, SVB.
Fosh, who became a multi-millionaire after selling his futures trading firm to Garban Intercapital in the late Nineties, has no experience of insurance or the Lloyd's market.
But he told Financial Mail: "I've spent the past 20 years in the stock and derivatives market. I understand risk, I understand change and I understand how to manage people."
