Nov. 11--LOS ALAMOS, N.M.--When the Deal family and their partners in The Hill Theater project toss around names for the town's only movie theater, their battle with the bureaucracy drops by the wayside.
They talk about calling the four-screen cinema, The Reel Deal or The Mariposa, and joke about sending up the origin of Los Alamos with a name like The Manhattan Projector.
But when he talks about his family's plans to bring commercial movies back to Los Alamos, retired physicist Bill Deal inevitably colors his jovial verbal style with shadows of cynicism.
