Nov. 7--DENTON, Texas--With voters' overwhelming endorsement Tuesday of the Denton County Transportation Authority, officials say they are on the fast track to provide mass transit.
The win -- 73.2 percent of votes cast -- moves the authority from an interim committee responsible for drafting a transportation plan to a permanent agency that will implement a plan.
That plan calls for a $132 million commuter rail line that would link Denton with Carrollton. In Carrollton, Denton County's trains would meet Dallas Area Rapid Transit trains for service to ...
