Nov. 6--Bill McBride and the Florida Democratic Party took political lemonade and molded it back into a lemon -- leaving the party in its most dismal state in more than a century.
They challenged a governor saddled with child welfare scandals, a record of cutting taxes for the rich, a souring economy, a lackluster education system, a Democratic electorate supposedly outraged over his rollback of affirmative action and his brother's disputed win in the 2000 elections -- and lost. Miserably.
Gov. Jeb Bush was reelected by an even wider margin than his 1998 landslide ...
