AMERICAN DENTAL ASSOCIATION ELECTS FIRST WOMAN PRESIDENT
BOSTON, Oct. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- For the first time in its 131-year history, the American Dental Association (ADA) has elected a woman dentist as its president-elect. Geraldine T. Morrow DMD, who practices general dentistry in Anchorage, Alaska, was elected during the ADA's 131st annual session in Boston today.
Morrow will assume the ADA presidency in October 1991 and lead the 140,000-member organization's efforts to encourage improvement of the public's oral health and promote advances in dentistry.
