Nov. 16--PRECIOUS SHIPPING PROFIT DROPS 66 PERCENT: Hurt by fewer operating days for its ships, Precious Shipping Plc (PSL) yesterday reported a 66 percent decline in net profit in the nine months to Sept 30.
The company said profit fell to 190 million baht from 571 million in the same period last year. Third-quarter profit shrank to 2.38 million baht from 294.89 million a year earlier.
Managing director Khalid Hashim attributed the drop in profits to a 23 percent fall in vessel operating income, because of fewer operating days and lower yields.
