Nov. 15--The Otero County commissioners are looking for applicants to serve on the board of the Arkansas Valley Preservation Land Trust.
The AVPLT will officially begin operation in November 2003 and is a nonprofit entity which accepts and monitors conservation easements tying the agricultural water to farms and ranchers.
The existing Otero County Land Trust is a nonprofit entity created to accept conservation easements on an interim basis while AVPLT fulfills a two-year waiting period required by the Internal Revenue Service.
