Nov. 23--VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.--From the entrance of The Sports Authority store at Lynnhaven North, you can see the front line of the next retail war.
Across the parking lot, workers are finishing the brick facade of the first of three new national sporting goods retailers planning to move into Hampton Roads.
Huge letters on a banner proclaim: "Dick's Sporting Goods -- Coming Soon."
Dick's, a retailer with 105 stores in 22 states, is taking over a portion of the old Montgomery Ward store at the north end of Lynnhaven Mall. The store is set to ...
