There has been a great deal of media attention in recent weeks on the Atkins diet, an eating plan that emphasizes restriction of carbohydrates enough to induce ketosis. It is a high-protein, high-fat diet which allows unlimited amounts of these foods, in marked contrast to the advice of most nutrition groups.
