It has now become apparent that Bernard Cardinal Law's days as archbishop of Boston are numbered. It is not a question of whether he will depart, but rather when. The cascades of disclosures about the cardinal's malfeasance over the last two decades in his reassignment of abusive priests, combined with the petulant interdict he recently laid on my own parish, Our Lady Help of Christians, have made no other conclusion viable.
