Dec. 9--Joining the list of competitors to SBC Pacific Bell, a small telecommunications company has begun offering residential phone service in the Sacramento area -- at prices substantially lower than other carriers.
Option One Telecom, based in Sacramento, said it has already signed up about 200 customers since it began operating less than two weeks ago, offering phone service that includes 15 features such as call-waiting, three-way calling and caller ID for $18.95 a month, plus tax.
