Destiny USA's growing footprint received the backing of two Onondaga County committees Tuesday.
The Empire Zone Administrative Board voted 6-0 to approve the additional allotment of 33 acres of county Empire Zone space to the humongous retail and entertainment center planned for Syracuse's lakefront.
The board voted Oct. 24 to add 22 acres of the zone to the project. Tuesday's vote added 11 more acres to it. Properties in areas designated as Empire Zones can operate virtually free of state income taxes if they expand or create jobs.
