Holiday celebrants have apparently chopped down an 8-foot spruce tree on the UW-Madison campus.
Daniel Einstein, the university's environmental management coordinator, noticed Tuesday that a stump was all that was left of the 23-year-old spruce, which stood near the zoology building.
