To the editor of The Post:
It is with much dismay that I have been reading about the city of Cincinnati's proposal to greatly reduce the scale and scope of its Planning Department. As a professional planner for over 20 years in both the public and private sectors, I find it amazing that city leadership shares the belief that gouging the planning function within city government will be of benefit to the community.
This is short sighted. The responsibility of planning within local government is to maintain the "big picture'' view to inform local decision making, which helps to facilitate public investments, maximize private sector involvement in community ...
