Dec. 11--Gruet Winery of Albuquerque and Carlson Vineyards of Colorado won double-gold medals at the recent Southwest Wine Competition, held at the Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum.
Gruet Winery won the double-gold medal and Best of Show with its Brut in the Best of Sparkling Wine competition. Carlson Vineyards of Palisade, Colo., won with its Gewurztraminer in the Best of White Wine competition, said Professor Bealquin "Bill" Gomez, New Mexico State University Cooperative Extension, coordinator of the event.
