Dec. 11--Move over, Detroit. Hockeytown U.S.A. may be getting a new zip code right here in the Red River Valley.
A delegation from USA Hockey was in Grand Forks on Monday checking out the city and its two biggest event centers -- Ralph Engelstad Arena and the Alerus Center -- to see if they have what it takes to play host to the 2005 International Ice Hockey Federation's World Junior Hockey Championship.
Grand Forks is on a short list of American sites vying for the tournament, according to Ron DeGregorio, vice president of USA Hockey. The city is up against ...
