RETAIL PRICES FOR ORANGE JUICE EXPECTED TO DECLINE
LAKELAND, Fla., Oct. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Retail prices for orange juice are expected to decline almost 12 percent during the coming year, while U.S. consumption of orange juice is expected to increase by 15 percent.
Florida Department of Citrus (FDOC) Economic Research Director Robert Behr said the expected retail price decline is the result of higher Florida orange production and record world orange juice supplies.
Earlier this month, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) estimated that Florida would produce 165 million boxes of oranges, an increase of 50 percent more than last season's ...
