Naperville police caught a man who they say stole a cash register from a convenience store, then dumped it in the garbage when he couldn't get it open, police said.
Eduardo Carrillo-Perez, 44, whose last known address was in Lisle, was charged Monday with felony robbery and burglary, Naperville Sgt. Joel Truemper said.
Carillo-Perez entered the Riverhill Food Mart, 1250 W. Ogden Ave., around 3 p.m. Monday and announced a stickup, although he didn't have a weapon, police said.
