Dec. 13--AUSTIN, Texas--Travis County District Attorney Ronnie Earle is considering a request from political watchdog groups to investigate their claim that a business organization's contributions to political campaigns constituted illegal corporate donations.
At issue is $2 million in contributions from the Texas Association of Business to candidates in last month's election. TAB contributed to 22 competitive state House and two state Senate races. The candidates it helped won 18 of the House races and one of the Senate races.
