EL PASO, Texas--The new Northern Command is in the preparing plan for defending the United States homeland if U.S. forces invade Iraq, Army Lt. Gen. Edward Anderson, deputy commander of Northern Command, said at the Association of the U.S. Army symposium here yesterday.
If the United States invades Iraq, Northern Command has to be prepared here to protect the homeland, Anderson said, explaining an exercise is slated for February to wring out the details of this homeland protection plan.
