Mantova, Italy, is a city surrounded by lakes, filled with buildings constructed between the 12th and 19th centuries and inhabited by friendly, engaging people. I know this because I was fortunate enough to be part of a small Madison delegation that recently traveled with Mayor Bauman to witness the signing and gift exchange that formalized the Madison-Mantova sister city relationship.
