FORT WORTH, Texas _ Boston Red Sox manager Grady Little stirred up a little controversy last weekend when he elected to give pitcher Pedro Martinez an extra day of rest and not use him in a three-game series against the Yankees.
Little was looking at the long-term health of his best pitcher, rather than the alleged importance of an early June series against his team's top rival. But the Red Sox this year are more than just Martinez, especially in their pitching, and they still took two of three from the Yankees.
