It's a fitting irony that the last argument between former Ladysmith mayor Marty Reynolds and his constituents flared over a crumbling foundation.
Possibly the small town's brittle community bonds soon may be pulverized, too, as the struggle to recover from a Sept. 2 tornado enters a particularly nasty phase.
Community meetings have bogged down in bickering over money. Neighbors are on the local airwaves, bad-mouthing each other. And Reynolds quit this past week after being confronted by a dozen angry citizens who accused him of acting above the law.
