Slovakia's citizens could not possibly give themselves a better present for the 10th anniversary of their country's independence than the recent invitations to join NATO and the EU, Prime Minister Mikulas Dzurinda said on his return from Copenhagen on 14 December, TASR reported. Slovakia, he said, has now become "a part of the Euro-Atlantic security and economic structures." Dzurinda thanked a number of officials for their contributions, saying he is also grateful for opposition support during accession negotiations.
