Dec. 18--Maysteel LLC, which plans to close its Mayville factory, estimated Tuesday that about 60 manufacturing jobs at the company's other Wisconsin plants would be made available to Mayville employees during the next three months.
That could preserve jobs for slightly more than half of the 108 union-represented employees now working at Mayville.
The prospect of saving many of the jobs came as the company and representatives of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers bargained on a plant-closing agreement.
