Dec. 18--The city's new conference center is proving to be an easy sell.
"For December, we are just booked solid," said Lisa Flick, assistant facility manager for the $7.4 million Ruthe Jackson Center. "And we have bookings all the way through next December."
Hundreds of residents got their first look at the facility Monday night during grand opening ceremonies that also honored the woman after whom it is named.
"I am so proud to say we have such a great facility," Pat Herring said. "It's top-notch, and to be named after such a great woman."
