VOLVO WITHDRAWS `MONSTER TRUCK' AD

AUSTIN, Texas, Nov. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Volvo Cars of North America today announced that it has voluntarily withdrawn its recent advertisement showing a "Monster Truck" attempting to crush a row of cars. The ad was challenged by Texas Attorney General Jim Mattox.

Volvo stated the concept for this ad came from an actual "Monster Truck" event which was conducted by the Arthritis Foundation of Vermont on Sept. 11, 1988.
