Article: U.S. Black Farmers Get Cuba Commitment to Buy Products.

Dec. 21--John Boyd, president of the Virginia-based National Black Farmers Association, has gotten agreement from the Cuban government to buy food products from black U.S. farmers.

The commitment was made during a November trip to Cuba on which Boyd accompanied Kweisi Mfume, president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and NAACP staff members.

Boyd estimates that the deal, which would cover items such as chicken-leg quarters, yellow corn, soybeans and rice, could mean as much as $15 million to $25 million in sales for the ...
