The Eugene School Board agreed with Superintendent George Russell's recommendation and voted Wednesday night to approve the Washington Elementary School property as the site of a new campus scheduled to open in the autumn of 2004.
While Russell cited nine reasons for why he chose the Harlow Road site over two other locations, he said that his recommendation was largely based upon community objections to building a school in other parts of north Eugene.
