It only seems as if all those endlessly sung, endlessly heard Christmas songs have been around forever.
But each one has its own nativity, you might say.
Whether it's the story of two Austrian church employees whipping together "Silent Night" to solve a Christmas Eve crisis or Jewish immigrant Irving Berlin writing "White Christmas" for a Hollywood movie, every holiday favorite started out somewhere.
Guess what? At least five beloved Christmas carols started here in Massachusetts.
